Week 1 Schedule

Monday - Textbook Scavenger Hunt: Students will become acquainted with the major areas of their textbook

Tuesday - World History Themes Discussion: Students will participate in a discussion over the major themes of the course that will be discussed throughout the year. Notes will be posted at the end of the day Tuesday.

Wednesday - Website navigation and Internet Research Methods: Students will be in the Media Center learning how to use my website and also how best to search for information on the computer.

Thursday - UNIT 1 Pretest: Students will take a pretest over Unit 1 - Early Civilizations to provide the teacher with a baseline of what they already know.

Friday - Begin UNIT 1: Students will begin working on UNIT 1 - Early Civilizations in class.

First Day of School

I hope you all had a great first day. It was wonderful meeting all of you seeing so many new faces. For parents I wanted to make sure you know what is going on in the class. Today I introduced the course and passed out the syllabus (see post below for copy). Students will begin work next week on the first unit which is Early Civilizations.

Syllabus

Attached is a copy of the course syllabus. Students will be given a copy of the syllabus on the first day of class. They should show this to their parents and have their parents sign the syllabus. This will stay in their notebook for the entire year.
